Los Angeles, CA -- April 14, 2015 - Sonnenbatterie, a leading provider of lithium ion smart energy storage solutions for homes and business in the United States and Europe, this week won the New Energy Pioneers Award at the Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) annual summit in New York, which recognizes companies for innovative achievements in the energy sector.

Sonnenbatterie received the award for its intelligent storage system which allows home owners and small businesses to use solar electricity at night, feel peace of mind with back-up power, and reduce peak demand charges. The main assessment criteria for the award were growth potential, innovation, and momentum of the company.

An independent panel of industry experts, along with Bloomberg’s technology experts, selected 10 winners from a large pool of applicants worldwide. By recognizing innovators, Bloomberg New Energy Finance aims to highlight changes in the energy market through new technologies, business models, and structures that are creating commercial opportunities.

The award was presented on April 13th as part of the Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit in New York. Sonnenbatterie also recently won the 100,000 euro STEP Award and was named in the "Global Cleantech 100" list.
